The Phillips Family did a shared values activity in August 2018, reviewed and edited the mission and vision, and explored deeply our why, our how, and our what.

- At least 90% of teachers will agree that there is an atmosphere of trust and mutual respect in this school.
- At least 80% of staff will agree that there is adequate time to collaborate with colleagues as defined by the TWCS
- ELA: By the end of 2017-2018 school year, 34% of students will achieve Grade Level Proficiency on the 6-8 ELA EOG tests.
- Math: By the end of 2017-2018 school year, 27% of students will achieve Grade Level Proficiency on the 6-8 Math EOG tests.
- Science: By the end of 2017-2018 school year, 32% of students will achieve Grade Level Proficiency on the 8th grade science EOG test.

Opportunity Culture
Phillips implemented Opportunity Culture in August 2017. An opportunity culture design team worked on the Opportunity Culture mission and vision the previous school year, deciding what roles to create. Though only one member of the team returned to Phillips Middle School, the new team trail-blazed forward with the plan. Phillips Middle School has a Math Multi-Classroom Leader, a science Extended Impact Teacher, and a Reach Associate.

In order to spread decision making throughout the school, we have continued collaboration with and created several teams of teachers to drive decisions for important initiatives. These teams include:
I have partnered closely with our School Improvement Team chair to support her in facilitation of School Improvement Team meetings. She is now creating dynamic agendas that increases engagement of all SIT members and gathers feedback from the team on the process and outcomes of meetings.
